Coral Island – Koh Hae

Coral Island, also known as Koh Hae, is a popular destination located near Phuket, Thailand.

Coral Island is situated just off the southeast coast of Phuket in the Andaman Sea. It is easily accessible from Phuket and is a short boat ride away.

Beaches and Activities: Coral Island is known for its beautiful sandy beaches and clear waters. The island offers various water activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing, jet skiing, and banana boat rides. You can explore the vibrant coral reefs and encounter a wide range of marine life, including tropical fish and colorful corals.

Coral Island Beaches: The island has two main beaches. Long Beach (also called Hat Thap Lamu) is the most popular and developed beach, offering a range of facilities, beach chairs, and umbrellas. Banana Beach, located on the other side of the island, is a smaller and more secluded beach with fewer amenities but a quieter atmosphere.

Facilities and Amenities: Coral Island has basic facilities for visitors, including restaurants, beachfront bars, and small shops where you can rent snorkeling equipment or beach gear. While there are a few accommodation options on the island, most visitors prefer to take a day trip from Phuket.

Timing and Weather: Coral Island can be visited year-round. However, the best time to visit is during the dry season, from November to April, when the weather is generally sunny and the sea is calm. Monsoon season, from May to October, can bring heavy rains and rough sea conditions, affecting boat trips and water activities.

Environmental Conservation: Like many other islands in the region, Coral Island’s marine ecosystem is fragile and should be treated with care. It’s important to follow responsible tourism practices, such as not touching or damaging corals, avoiding littering, and using reef-safe sunscreen to protect the marine environment.

Whether you’re seeking water adventures or simply looking to relax on a beautiful beach, Coral Island offers a delightful experience near Phuket.
