Phi Phi Island, also known as Koh Phi Phi, is a group of islands located in the Andaman Sea, approximately 45 minutes by boat from Phuket in Thailand. The archipelago consists of six islands, with the two main ones being Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh.
Phi Phi Don is the larger and more developed island, known for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and a wide range of accommodations, restaurants, and shops. Tonsai Village is the main hub of Phi Phi Don, offering a lively atmosphere with bars, restaurants, and markets.
Phi Phi Leh, on the other hand, is smaller and uninhabited. It gained fame after being featured in the movie “The Beach” starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Maya Bay, located on Phi Phi Leh, is a breathtakingly beautiful bay with crystal-clear waters and towering limestone cliffs. Due to environmental concerns, access to Maya Bay was temporarily closed, as mentioned earlier in our conversation.
Visitors to Phi Phi Island can enjoy activities such as snorkeling, diving, kayaking, and boat tours to explore the surrounding islands and their natural beauty. The clear waters and vibrant marine life make it a popular spot for underwater adventures.
The journey offers scenic views of the Andaman Sea and the surrounding islands.
